Lunchtime Lamb Naans


Saffron Tree TOGETHER Naan Blend

For the lamb topping

250g minced lamb
½ medium onion, very finely chopped
½ tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp sweet paprika
1 tsp cumin
1 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
Salt and pepper


  1. Make the Saffron Tree TOGETHER Naan Blend according to the instructions, but do not cook it yet.
  2. In a mixing bowl, using your clean hands, combine all the ingredients for the lamb topping. Don’t be shy or gentle. Get stuck in and mix vigorously.
  3. In a medium to hot dry pan, cook a portion of the naan dough on one side until cooked.
  4. Remove from the pan and pop it onto a chopping board with the cooked side down.
  5. Push some of the lamb mince mixture into the raw dough side of the naan and spread evenly.
  6. Place on a baking tray under a medium to hot preheated grill, mince side up, and grill for 6 to 8 minutes.
  7. Serve with mint yoghurt, roast red peppers and the classic pickled chilli peppers. This dish is also fabulous with an egg.
